Ayahuasca, a sacred and psychoactive plant medicine traditionally utilized by indigenous Amazonian cultures, combines the Banisteriopsis caapi vine with Psychotria viridis leaves. This potent brew induces deep spiritual experiences and is renowned for its healing, self-discovery, and personal growth benefits.
Individuals with health conditions such as:
- High blood pressure (hypertension) or low blood pressure
- Various heart conditions
- Diabetes
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizophrenia or other mental health conditions requiring medication
Individuals with any condition affecting their heart are unable to participate in these ceremonies.
How to Get to Our Place
Getting to our center of ancestral customs involves three phases:
From Hotel/Hostel or Airport to Rumo Cocha Port: Travel time: Approximately 30 minutes by Motocar (motorcycle taxi).
From Rumo Cocha Port to San Pedro de Nanay Town: Travel time: About 30 minutes by boat. Time may vary (20 minutes during dry season).
From San Pedro de Nanay Town to Center of Ancestral Customs: Travel time: 20 minutes walking. Time may vary (20 minutes in season, 35 minutes during dry season).

- Local Staff: All services are provided by local people, including those who handle communication (emails, WhatsApp) and kitchen staff.
Ayahuasca Diet Food
- Ayahuasca Diet: All meals during your stay adhere to the Ayahuasca diet, accommodating vegan and vegetarian preferences. The diet includes fresh vegetables, beans, tubers, chicken, and fish, without salt, oil, or condiments to support your digestive system during Ayahuasca ceremonies.
Ayahuasca Ceremonies
- Ceremony Schedule: Ceremonies start at 7 PM and conclude by 11 PM. Each session is led by a shaman accompanied by an English- and Spanish-speaking facilitator.
Shamanic Tools and Rituals
- Ceremonial Objects: Shamans use traditional tools such as Shacapa, Agua Florida, Timolina, and Ikaros chants during ceremonies.
Leaf Baths and Facilities
Leaf Baths (Banos de Plantas): Refreshing baths with aromatic plants and flowers to cleanse and rejuvenate the body from negative energies.
Maloca: The main ceremonial house where all Ayahuasca ceremonies are conducted.
Cabins: Rustic accommodations with basic amenities including private bathrooms with natural water (not potable), showers, sanitary facilities, toiletries, and a mosquito-netted bed. Each cabin also includes a small table for candles and a hammock.
Transportation
- Local Transport: Transportation includes boats and motorcars, providing local and authentic travel experiences.
During an Ayahuasca ceremony, participants typically experience altered perceptions, vivid visions, emotional release, and a profound connection to their inner self and the spiritual realm. Many report profound insights, self-discovery, and a sense of healing, although experiences vary widely among individuals.
Daytime jungle walks include a visit to the majestic Lupuna tree, typically lasting about 25 minutes as scheduled. However, adjustments to dates or times may occur due to weather conditions.

Payment details will be provided by the coordinator who contacts you online.
Reservation via RetreatGuru: Cash payment upon meeting your facilitator. A 5% bank commission applies for card payments.
Direct Reservation: Payment of 100% accepted via bank card without bank commission charges.
Refunds Policy (Applicable only for direct bookings):
- 100% Refund: Notification at least 1 week in advance.
- 50% Refund: Notification less than 1 week in advance. This covers preparatory costs.
Refunds via RetreatGuru:
- Contact RetreatGuru directly for refund inquiries as payments made through them are managed exclusively by RetreatGuru.
Non-Refundable Conditions:
- No refunds once the service is provided.
- No refunds for participants opting for 1 or 2 ceremonies, as payments support local workers, the shaman, and the facilitator directly.

Once everyone has settled in, the shaman initiates the ceremony by singing Icaros and invoking protective energies from all directions. As participants consume the sacred medicine, their energy fields open wide, prompting the shaman or healer to reinforce protections against any negative spirits or energies, ensuring a safe environment for healing and personal growth.
